My First Exit is a Reality (August 2015)
MY FIRST EXIT. It is with great pleasure that I have just completed my first exit. I’ve sold my share of Board Network and simultaneously left the company. I founded Board Network in 2012 with a partner with whom I had a strong professional cooperation. Focus was on the creation of value through the forward-looking strategic and managerial tasks on the board. I am proud of the strong position, Board Network has achieved and I leave the company richer in knowledge, experience and networks.
STRATEGY IS MY CALLING. Since I began my career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey, I have worked with strategy – it is my call. I have since developed strategy in both large and small companies in most industries including FMCG, Pharma, Media, Automotive, Technology, Finance and Consulting. My focus as a strategy consultant and board member is always the creation of value in the tension between ambition and realism through ruthless prioritisation of resources, constant focus on results and continuous sparring with top management about execution.
PASSION FOR PERFORMANCE. I continue my work as a professional board member and advisor of boards / top management on strategy and business development under the auspices of Brammer & Co. The theoretical element is kept alive as an external lecturer in Strategy at CBS. The exit will I also allow me to be part of other partnerships and constellations and release time for new boards positions and projects. The passion to create results remains and it is my – and Walt Disney’s – experience that “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing!”
Board Network Launched (March 2012)
Board Network was launched on March 19, 2012. Ditte Kirstein Brammer assumed the role as CEO of Board Network that focuses on Excellence in the Boardroom by emphasising value creation through forward-looking strategy and leadership. Hence, Board Network fulfils the rapidly growing need for collaboration and Exchange of experience among like-minded Non-Executive Chairmen and Directors. The Danish Board Network offers 4 annual meetings, incl. 3 annual members-only meetings and The Danish Board Conference. Further, Board Network offers inspiration and knowledge through its quarterly publication Board Perspectives.
